Buy-to-let interests new investors

People who have never invested in the property market before are being enticed into the sector, experts have claimed.

Assetz has claimed that the favourable conditions within the marketplace are leading to a surge in interest from new investors.

The investment firm noted that people are becoming disillusioned with poor savings rates and other options so are choosing to place their money into housing.

This could lead to more people asking for landlord insurance quotes as they look to make their way into the buy-to-let sector.

Stuart Law, chief executive of Assetz, said that property is seen as a "safer option" by investors.

He commented: "Elsewhere, savings are inadequately protected, companies can stop paying dividends and shares can become worthless overnight.

"Residential property on the other hand will generally produce a reasonable income from rent and always has an intrinsic value."

Department of Communities and Local Government research found house prices increased by 1.4 per cent during July.
