Residential landlords could be seeing tenants vacate their properties to get away from neighbours, new research has suggested.A recent survey by Abbey Mortgages revealed that 95,200 people have moved home in the last two years to get away from their neighbours. One of the biggest reasons for this could be changes to family life, as people like to live near other people with similar family sizes, according to independent property consultancy Knight Frank."I have no doubt that it is a contributing factor to some people when they decide to move. When you get older and you haven't got children, you might think that actually that isn't the neighbour you want to be near anymore," said Liam Bailey, head of residential research at Knight Frank. The Abbey research also showed that 136,000 people had moved home to acquire more space, while 6,800 had left due to redundancy or financial difficulties.A further 74,800 cited job relocation as a reason for having to move.Get landlords insurance quote today from Simple Landlords Insurance.
