Residential landlords in Oxford could be set to benefit from a new guide designed to help them improve their properties.Oxford City Council has launched a new Good Practice Guide in a bid to improve the standard of rented accommodation in the area, the Oxford Mail reported.The guide provides residential landlords with information and advice on how to comply with relevant legislation.Councillor Joe McManners, executive member for housing, told the local newspaper that private rented accommodation accounts for more than a quarter of the area's housing stock.He said: "We want to support the many excellent landlords and agents in their work and give them the recognition that they deserve as well as promoting our efforts to improve poor standards in the sector."We want to provide clear guidance to help to improve the quality of homes and the energy efficiency and security of rented properties."The local authority has also announced plans to extend its houses of multiple occupancy licensing scheme to "tackle poor housing and antisocial tenants".Posted by Luella RavelinGet a cheap landlords insurance quote today from Simple Landlords Insurance.
