There has been a reduction in the number of 'reluctant landlords' operating within the rental sector, according to new research.A study from the Association of Residential Letting Agents (Arla) has found that there has been a drop in the amount of homes coming onto the marketplace due to buyers not being found. This could signal an upturn in the housing sector as a whole, with reluctant landlords seen as a key part of the general downturn due to a lack of movement within the property market.Ian Potter, operations manager at Arla, said: "Many sellers were left with little option other than to rent their properties out earlier in the year but this trend seems to be slowly diminishing."There are, however, still a huge number of these reluctant landlords in the market who need to understand the obligations of a landlord to their tenants and the importance of choosing a regulated and qualified letting agent." London and the south-east of England have experienced the largest decreases in reluctant landlords, Arla revealed.Get a landlord house insurance quote today from Simple Landlords Insurance.
