'Future bright' for long-term landlords

Long-term landlords can expect to enjoy excellent prospects in the coming months and years, experts have claimed.

LettingZone has forecast that the future looks "very good" for landlords who are in the rental market for the long haul.

The company explained that low interest rates are helping property investors, while those on tracker mortgages look set to be see excellent returns on their investments.

Mark Garnet, managing director of LettingZone, said landlords "will be reaping the full benefit of the lower base rate and their cash flow business will be very healthy at the moment".

He added: "I wouldn't say my rents are leaping up, but they have certainly stabilised now and it is looking a lot more certain and a lot more healthy for the long-term future."

Rent prices increased at their fastest rate for a year in England and Wales during July, new figures from LSL Property Services indicated.
